Sample Job Description

CORPORATE FINANCE.

JUNIOR ANALYST - FINANCE, PLANNING AND ADMINISTRATION.

Basic Function: Review the company's business plans and annual budget and analyze and summarize various financing proposals sent to the company..

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

Assess the financial markets
Prepare a competitive analysis of the industry
Prepare and review the corporate budget and business plan
Provide financial research services and implement any decision taken in order to manage overall capital structure
Gather, analyze, and summarize pertinent treasury information in report form
Develop sinking fund strategy for repurchase of company bonds
Implement borrowing decisions
Participate in financings of a corporate and project financing nature
Prepare specific management reports regarding financial performance as well as financial market performance
Prepare for rating agency reviews
Implement approved financial plans and policies
Analyze, design, and implement a variety of computer based information systems for worldwide treasury application

Types of Decisions
Determine company liquidity requirements
Evaluate externally submitted proposals and determine whether they make economic sense for the company
Determine whether requests from other locations meet specific guidelines of corporate policy

Organizational Relationships

Report directly to the manager of finance, planning and administration
Education and Experience
MBA
Representative Skills and Knowledge
Requires:
In-depth knowledge of short-and long-term financial markets
Background in quantitative analytical techniques
Knowledge of basic and advanced corporate finance principles, combined with mathematical and statistical analysis
of finance alternatives
Use of quantitative methods on the interactive computer
Knowledge of general economic/financial interrelationships as they affect the financial markets and business plans
Knowledge of computer-based approaches to managing debt information requirements
Ability to participate on special study teams or task forces
Other
Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly are prime requisites
