2020 European Conference (postponed until 2021)

Important update:
After closely monitoring the developments of the coronavirus (COVID-19) through the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we have decided to postpone the 2020 FMA European Conference. The conference will be held in Limassol, Cyprus on 9 - 11 June 2021. This decision was made with regard to the health and well-being of our members, staff, and partners as well as possible travel restrictions.
All accepted papers will automatically be placed on next year’s program. If you have paid a registration deposit or full registration fee, you may choose to request a refund or to rollover your registration or deposit for next year’s conference. If you request a refund, you will need to re-register for the 2021 conference in January 2021. Please indicate your choice by emailing Karen Wright by clicking one of the following:

If you have already made your hotel reservations, you will need to contact your hotel directly to cancel your reservation. Contact information for hotels is available here.
EMLYON, which was originally scheduled to host the 2021 FMA European Conference, will now host the 2022 conference.
FMA International is pleased to announce its 24th European Conference at the Cyprus University of Technology in Limassol, Cyprus. FMA’s European Conference brings together academicians and practitioners with interests in financial decision-making and provides a forum for presenting new research and discussing current issues in financial management and related topics.
Presentations of research papers, panel discussions, tutorials and exhibits will begin Thursday morning and end Friday afternoon. The Doctoral Student Consortium (by application) will be held on Wednesday, 9 June.

After completing her PhD in Economics and Finance at Queens University, Nadia held associate professor positions at the University of Alberta and York University’s Schulich School of Business.
Nadia’s research, which has received extensive awards and appeared in leading journals, including the Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Rand Journal of Economics and others, focuses on corporate governance and regulation in the banking sector.
Nadia teaches Financial Institutions, Corporate Finance and Financial Management on our MBA programs and is an organising director of the Financial Institutions, Regulation and Corporate Governance Conference.

The paper submission fee is $50 USD for members and $60 USD for non-members. The deadline to submit a paper was Monday, 2 December 2019. We are no longer accepting paper submissions.
Paper Acceptances
Acceptance letters for the 2020 Conference were sent (electronically) to each paper’s presenting author in February 2020. The presenting author was required to register within one (1) week to confirm his/her attendance.

Led by William Megginson, Professor & Price Chair in Finance and George Lynn Cross Research Professor at the Michael F. Price College of Business at the University of Oklahoma and Saudi Aramco Chair Professor in Finance at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, the Doctoral Student Consortium includes a panel session with distinguished scholars discussing the latest advances in research and offering career advice. The afternoon breakout sessions give participants the opportunity to present job market papers or dissertation proposals and receive feedback from the faculty and panelists. Accepted participants receive complimentary conference registration.
