2018 European Conference

FMA International is pleased to announce its 22nd European Conference in Kristiansand, Norway. FMA’s European Conference brings together academicians and practitioners with interests in financial decision-making and provides a forum for presenting new research and discussing current issues in financial management and related topics.

Presentations of research papers, panel discussions, tutorials and exhibits will begin Thursday morning and end Friday afternoon. The Doctoral Student Consortium (invite only) will be held on Wednesday, 13 June. In addition to the conference, attendees may take advantage of the area's many amenities and tourist opportunities

Onsite registration is available and will be located at the main entrance to the University of Agder on:

Registration Fees

  • Member Conference Registration: $500 USD (Professional), $345 USD (current PhD/DBA student)
  • Nonmember Conference Registration: $600 USD (Professional), $375 (current PhD/DBA student)

Optional Special Events Fees

Additional fees are required for the Gala Dinner on Thursday and the Closing Reception on Friday. Fees for additional guests apply.

Adrian Blundell-Wignall
Special Advisor to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Secretary-General on Financial and Enterprise Affairs

Dr. Adrian Blundell-Wignall is the Special Advisor to the OECD Secretary-General on Financial Markets and Enterprise Affairs and the Editor of Financial Market Trends at the OECD. He is also the founder and chairman of a charitable foundation (The Anika Foundation) that raises and invests an endowment fund to provide scholarships in a critical area of healthcare. He has a 1st class Honours degree and PhD in Economics from Cambridge University, UK. He is the author of extensive publications on financial markets and monetary policy in learned journals and books, as well as broker analyst studies and reports.

Doctoral Student Consortium on Wednesday, 13 June 2018

Doctoral Student Consortium, coordinated by Craig Lewis of Vanderbilt University, includes a panel session with distinguished scholars discussing the latest advances in research and offering career advice. The afternoon breakout sessions give participants the opportunity to present job market papers or dissertation proposals and receive feedback from the faculty and panelists. Accepted participants receive complimentary conference registration.

To apply for the Doctoral Student Consortium, students must complete the online application and submit a 5 - 10 page dissertation proposal (in PDF format). In addition, one recommendation letter should either be uploaded to the application or sent to FMA prior to the application deadline. 

Applications were due on Friday, 16 February 2018. There is no fee for the Doctoral Student Consortium application.
